We Rock the Spectrum is one of Harford County's most welcoming indoor play spaces. It's an inclusive, sensory-safe gym built for kids of all abilities, and that really does mean all kids: children on the autism spectrum, kids with sensory processing differences, and neurotypical kids who simply love to climb, swing, and jump. My daughter has been coming here for years, and it's become one of our absolute favorite spots.

The gym itself is bright, open, and thoughtfully laid out, with padded flooring, a calming room for sensory breaks, and equipment designed to meet kids exactly where they are. Owned and run by local Harford County parents Nikki and Trey Wooton, who opened the gym after their own son was diagnosed with autism, We Rock the Spectrum has built a loyal following of local families through open play, classes, camps, private events, and their rockin’ birthday parties. Their motto says it all: "Finally a Place Where You Never Have to Say I'm Sorry."

No two kids play the same way, and that's exactly the point. Every child, no matter their ability, is welcome to explore at their own pace, and small, sensory-safe touches throughout the gym mean every family can find their rhythm.

What I appreciate most about We Rock the Spectrum is how genuinely inclusive it is. This isn't a gym just for kids with special needs, and it isn't a gym just for neurotypical kids either; it's built so that every child, whatever their needs or abilities, can play side by side.

Owners Nikki and Trey Wooton have said it themselves: “We Rock is an indoor kids gym where EVERYONE is welcome! All Kids! All Abilities! All Fun!” My daughter has grown so much every time we visit, whether she's working up the courage to master a new swing or bouncing on the trampoline. Watching her build confidence in a space that never rushes her or makes her feel out of place has meant the world to our family.

Sensory-Smart Play for Every Age

The gym's equipment is designed with real purpose behind it. Kids can swing, zip down the slider, bounce on the trampoline, climb the play structure, tunnel through crash mats and pillows, or dig into the fine motor area filled with trusted toy brands. There's an arts and crafts corner for kids who want a quieter activity, and a calming room set aside for anyone who needs a sensory break, no questions asked.

Open Play is available weekly with multi-visit packages available for families who come often. For a smaller, more private visit, families can also book exclusive gym access for up to five children. Beyond open play, the schedule fills in with sensory classes, toddler time, field trips, and seasonal camps, so there's always a reason to come back.

Rockin’ Birthday Parties

If there's one thing We Rock the Spectrum is known for locally, it's the birthday parties. Every party is private, so families never have to share the space, and full use of the gym's equipment is included. Their team helps handle the details so parents can actually enjoy the celebration instead of running it.

Families can add on individually packaged snacks and drinks, including ice cream, and outside food like cake is welcome. Party options can also include fun add-ons like their balloon drop. And because the whole facility is sensory-safe, any child who needs a break can head to the calming room or the arts and crafts area without ever feeling like they're missing out on their friend's big day.

We Rock on Wheels: The Fun Comes to You

Can't make it into the gym? We Rock the Spectrum brings the experience to you with We Rock on Wheels, their mobile sensory gym bus. Loaded with the same sensory-safe equipment as the Forest Hill location, the bus travels to birthday parties, daycares, schools, festivals, and community events across Harford County, bringing motor skills, sensory processing, and social play activities right to your driveway or event space.

The bus is recommended for kids ages 1–8, though older and younger children are always welcome to join in, and it can even be booked for one child who needs some extra, individualized attention at home. Because it's such a popular add-on for birthdays and events, families are encouraged to book well in advance.
